About the course1 year full-time/2 years part-time This course offers dental professionals and social scientists an opportunity to develop their skills in social and behavioural sciences as applied to the mouth, dentistry and oral health. Enhancing your research skills is an important part of the course. This involves conducting research and undertaking several different inquiries in this area. Entry requirementsYou need a 2:1 in a recognised social science degree or a dental degree, or a relevant professional qualification. You'll complete your clinical training in the hospital. Our links with the hospital give you access to modern clinical facilities and equipment. There are 150 dental units with facilities for treatment under sedation, a well-equipped dental radiography department, oral pathology laboratories and a hospital dental production laboratory. We also have purpose-built research and service laboratories and equipment. There’s a core facility for cell and tissue culture and labs for microbiology, electron microscopy, histology, histochemistry and immuno-cytochemistry, biochemistry, molecular biology, proteomics and materials science.
