About the course

The course examines vulnerabilities, violence and abuse in global contexts from different perspectives: sociological, social policy and social work. You’ll study the ways in which socio-economic, cultural and political dynamics affect perceptions. And you’ll analyse the policies and practices of statutory, voluntary and community agencies.
There are two pathways: one is aimed at managers in NGOs who want to understand these issues better so they can improve their services. The other is designed for students pursuing careers in research, academia or policy development.
