Clubs and societies
Discover a community of like-minded people at the University of Sheffield.
Find your community
Clubs and societies are student-led groups dedicated to a wide range of hobbies, interests, sports, faith groups and nationalities. There are more than 350 clubs and societies to choose from at Sheffield, so you’ll never be short on options.
Joining one can be a great way to make new friends and help you settle into life at university. There’s also plenty of opportunities for you to collaborate with other societies for joint events and celebrations.
Give it a Go
You can sample as many different clubs and activities as you like on a one-off basis. This means you don’t have to commit to just one club or society, until you feel ready to make the decision.
Give it a Go is subsidised by the Students’ Union to keep ticket costs low - some activities are even free!
Create a society
If you can’t find the right society for you, start your own! You’ll have all of the support you need from the Students’ Union to get your society set up. Then it’s up to you to choose how the society runs, what events you put on and how you’ll share your interest with others.
