For all students: A student must satisfy the requirements of the General Regulations for First Degrees as to progression in order to continue as a student for the Degree of MEng in Mechatronic and Robotic Engineering with Year in Industry (ACSU42). A student who fails to satisfy these requirements may be permitted by the Faculty to become instead a student for the Degree of BEng in Mechatronic and Robotic Engineering (ACSU15) but this qualification will not be accredited by the relevant professional institutions.

For students commencing Year 1 of a programme of study before September 2022: A student must pass ACS6420 (Advanced Project) at the first attempt in order to be eligible for the award of the Degree of MEng in Mechatronic and Robotic Engineering with Year in Industry. A student who fails to satisfy this requirement may be awarded the degrees of BEng in Mechatronic and Robotic Engineering with a Year in Industry (ACSU43) but this qualification will not be accredited by the relevant professional institutions.

For students commencing Year 1 of a programme of study before September 2022: A student must pass a minimum of 100 credits at Level 5 in order to be awarded the degree of MEng Mechatronic and Robotic Engineering with a Year in Industry with accreditation by the IET and InstMC. A student who passes a minimum of 90 but fewer than 100 credits at Level 5 will, in accordance with the General Regulations, be awarded the degree of MEng Mechatronic and Robotic Engineering with a Year in Industry, but without accreditation.

For students commencing Year 1 of a programme of study in or after September 2022: A student must pass ACS6420 (Advanced Project) at the first attempt in order to be eligible for the award of the Degree of MEng in Mechatronic and Robotic Engineering with Year in Industry. A student who fails to satisfy this requirement may be awarded the Degree of BEng in Mechatronic and Robotic Engineering Studies with a Year in Industry.

For students commencing Year 1 of a programme of study in or after September 2022: A student who has been awarded credit in compensation of failed units in Years 2, 3 and 5 will be permitted an additional resit attempt in the compensated credits. An additional resit attempt can only be granted where the student has met the requirements for progression (or completion) under the General Regulations for First Degrees.

For students commencing Year 1 of a programme of study in or after September 2022: A student who has been awarded credit in compensation of failed units in Years 2, 3 and 5, where the grade achieved is more than 10% below the pass grade in those failed units, may not be recommended for a degree award that is accredited under Engineering Council rules.

For students commencing Year 1 of a programme of study in or after September 2022: A student who has been awarded more than 30 credits in compensation of failed units across Years 1, 2, 3 and 5, may not be recommended for a degree award that is accredited under Engineering Council rules.

For students commencing Year 1 of a programme of study in or after September 2022: A student who failed to pass one or more of the modules from the list below may not be recommended for a degree award that is accredited under Engineering Council rules: ACS230, MGT388.

For students commencing Year 1 of a programme of study in or after September 2022: Where a student has met the requirements for the award of a degree under the General Regulations for First Degrees but not the requirements for the award of a degree accredited under Engineering Council rules, they may be recommended for the award of a MEng degree in Mechatronic & Robotic Engineering Studies with a Year in Industry.
