Entry requirements for students from Egypt

We have been welcoming students from Egypt for many years and our staff are very familiar with the Egyptian education system and qualifications.

High entrance requirements for our degree programmes at Sheffield reflect the quality of the University.

All applicants are required to have an internationally recognised English language qualification such as IELTS or TOEFL. The minimum score that is accepted for entry is IELTS 6 or TOEFL Paper Based 550 or TOEFL Computer Based 213. Some departments may require a higher score.

For Entry to Undergraduate Programmes e.g. BSc, BA, BEng/ MEng

A variety of qualifications can be considered for direct admission to undergraduate bachelor degree programmes. All applications for undergraduate programmes should be made through UCAS

A Level

Applicants with a minimum of 3 A levels will be considered for direct admission to undergraduate programmes.

International Baccalaureate

Applicants with a minimum of 28 points will be considered for direct admission to undergraduate programmes.

Sheffield International College provides undergraduate foundation programmes specifically designed for students seeking entry into the University of Sheffield.

For Entry to Postgraduate Taught Programmes e.g. MA, MSc

Holders of a good bachelor degree with GPA 3.0 or above from a recognised university in Egypt will be considered for direct admission to postgraduate diploma or masters programmes.

For Entry to MBA

Holders of a good bachelor degree from a recognised university in Egypt and at least 3 years´ post-graduation work experience will be considered for direct admission to the MBA. Applicants must be at least 25 years old by the time the programme starts.

For Entry to Postgraduate Research Programmes e.g. MPhil, PhD, PhD with Integrated Masters

Holders of a bachelor degree and a good masters degree with GPA of 3.0 or above from a recognised university in Egypt will be considered for direct admission to postgraduate research programmes.
