The University is pleased to offer a range of scholarships to students from India who show exceptional academic potential and are starting their studies at the University of Sheffield in September 2013.

We are pleased to offer Management Scholarships to Indian undergraduate students starting their studies in the Management School in September 2013.

The scholarships are worth £1,500 per year each.

Eligibility and Award Criteria:

Social Science International Scholarships 2013 *New for 2013*

We are pleased to offer Social Science Scholarships to Indian undergraduate students starting their studies in September 2013 in any of the following departments: East Asian Studies, Economics, Education, Geography, Information School, Journalism, Politics, Sociological Studies, Town and Regional Planning.

The scholarships are worth £1,500 per year each.

Eligibility and Award Criteria:

•You must hold an offer of a study place and begin your undergraduate studies in September 2013 in any of the departments listed above.
•You must be self-funding and classified as overseas for tuition fee purposes.
•The scholarships will be awarded automatically - no application is required in first or subsequent years.
•The scholarships will be awarded unconditionally in the first year of studies. Award in subsequent years of study is subject to the achievement of 60% overall average mark.
•The scholarships will take the form of a tuition fee reduction.

India Merit Undergraduate Scholarships 2013 (£7,000)

There are three India Merit Undergraduate Scholarships, available for Indian students starting their undergraduate degree studies in September 2013.

Each scholarship is worth £7,000 of your undergraduate course tuition fee per year. The scholarships will take the form of a fee reduction.

To be eligible for the India Merit Undergraduate Scholarships 2013 (£7,000) applicants must be an Indian national or permanently domiciled in India, apply for a study place by Friday 21 June 2013 and hold an offer of a study place for entry in September 2013.

The India Merit Undergraduate Scholarships 2013 are awarded on the basis of academic merit.

If you wish to be considered for this scholarship you need to apply. Eligible students will automatically be sent details of how to apply from January 2013 onwards.

Applicants cannot apply for the scholarship before being offered a study place at Sheffield.

The deadline for applications is Friday 28 June 2013; scholarship results will be announced Friday July 26 2013.

Postgraduate Scholarships eg MA, MSc

The University offers a range of scholarships for Indian students who show exceptional academic potential starting a postgraduate Taught Masters programme at the University of Sheffield in September 2013.

India Sheffield Scholarships 2013

We are pleased to offer the India Sheffield Scholarship 2013 to all Indian students starting a Taught Masters programme in September 2013.

India Merit Postgraduate Scholarships 2013 (£7,000)

There are five India Merit Postgraduate Scholarships 2013, available for Indian students starting their postgraduate taught masters degree studies in September 2013.

Each scholarship is worth £7,000 of your postgraduate taught masters degree tuition fee per year, for one year of study. The scholarships will take the form of a tuition fee reduction.

To be eligible for the India Merit Postgraduate Scholarship 2013, applicants must be an Indian national or permanently domiciled in India, apply for a study place by Friday 21 June 2013 and hold an offer of a study place for entry in September 2013.

The India Merit Scholarships 2013 are awarded on the basis of academic merit.

The University of Sheffield does not offer research studentships specifically for Indian students. There are, however, studentships and funding for which students from India can apply.

The British Council in India can also provide information on the scholarship and funding bodies in India which support students for UK-based study such as the Commonwealth Scholarships and Fellowships, the British Chevening Scholarships and the Sir Ratan Tata Scholarships.

Indian students also qualify for tailor-made finance programmes provided through the Paras Education Foundation (TPEF). Students with nationalities other than Indian can receive support through Paras as well.
