Entry requirements for students from Thailand

We have been welcoming students from Thailand for many years and our staff are very familiar with the Thai education system and qualifications.

High entrance requirements for our degree programmes at Sheffield reflect the quality of the University.

All applicants are required to have an internationally recognised English language qualification such as IELTS or TOEFL. The minimum score that is accepted for entry is IELTS 6 or TOEFL Paper Based 550 or TOEFL Computer Based 213. Some departments may require a higher score.

For Entry to Undergraduate Programmes e.g. BSc, BA, BEng/ MEng

A variety of qualifications can be considered for direct admission to undergraduate bachelor degree programmes.

All applications for undergraduate programmes should be made through UCAS.

A Level

Applicants with a minimum of 3 A levels will be considered for direct admission to undergraduate programmes.

International Baccalaureate

International Baccalaureate diploma holders will be considered for direct admission to undergraduate programmes

Sheffield International College provides undergraduate foundation programmes specifically designed for students seeking entry into the University of Sheffield.

For Entry to Postgraduate Taught Programmes e.g. MA, MSc

Holders of a good bachelor degree with GPA of at least 3.0 from a recognised Thai university will be considered for direct admission to postgraduate diploma or masters programmes.

For Entry to MBA

Holders of a good bachelor degree from a recognised Thai university and at least 3 years´ post-graduation work experience will be considered for direct admission to the MBA.

Sheffield International College

Sheffield International College provides pre-Masters programmes specifically designed for students seeking entry into the University of Sheffield.

For Entry to Postgraduate Research Programmes e.g. MPhil, PhD, PhD with Integrated Masters

Holders of a good master degree from a recognised Thai university will be considered for direct admission to postgraduate research programmes.
