Entry requirements for students from Turkey
We have been welcoming students from Turkey for many years and our staff are very familiar with the Turkish education system and qualifications.
High entrance requirements for our degree programmes at Sheffield reflect the quality of the University. All applicants are required to have an internationally recognised English language qualification such as IELTS or TOEFL. The minimum score that is accepted for entry is IELTS 6.0 or TOEFL iBT 80. Some departments may require a higher score.

The following information is for guidance only.
For Entry to Undergraduate Programmes e.g. BSc, BA, BEng/MEng
A variety of qualifications can be considered for direct admission to undergraduate bachelor degree programmes. All applications for undergraduate programmes should be made through UCAS
A Level
Applicants with a minimum of 3 A levels will be considered for direct admission to undergraduate programmes.
International Baccalaureate
International Baccalaureate diploma holders will be considered for direct admission to undergraduate programmes. Required scores and subjects vary from course to course and can be found in our online prospectus.
Turkish High School
Most students from Turkey will be required to undertake a foundation course, but students from certain schools may apply for direct entry to an undergraduate programme in which case a high final year GPA will be required and advised according to the schools grading system
Students who have followed the national curriculum (Lise Diplomasi) are advised to complete the Foundation Certificate at Sheffield International College.
US Qualifications
Sudents applying for Turkey with US qualifications will be required to reach the same entry levels as American applicants
For Entry to Postgraduate Taught Programmes e.g. MA, MSc
Holders of a good bachelor degree from a recognised university in Turkey will be considered for direct admission to postgraduate diploma or masters programmes.
We normally expect student to achieve an overall 'good' GPA grade from a competitive university.
For Entry to MBA
Holders of a good bachelor degree from a recognised university in Turkey and at least 3 years´ post-graduation work experience will be considered for direct admission to the MBA. Applicants must be at least 25 years old by the time the programme starts.

For Entry to Postgraduate Research Programmes e.g. MPhil, PhD, PhD with Integrated Masters
Holders of a good bachelor degree and a good masters degree from a recognised university in Turkey will be considered for direct admission to postgraduate research programmes.
