Entry requirements for students from Bahrain

We have been welcoming students from Bahrain for many years and our staff are very familiar with the Bahraini education system and qualifications.

High entrance requirements for our degree programmes at Sheffield reflect the quality of the University.

All applicants are required to have an internationally recognised English language qualification such as IELTS or TOEFL.

The information below is for guidance only.

For Entry to Undergraduate Programmes e.g. BSc, BA, BEng/ MEng

A variety of qualifications can be considered for direct admission to undergraduate bachelor degree programmes.

All applications for undergraduate programmes should be made through UCAS.

A Level

Applicants with a minimum of 3 A levels will be considered for direct admission to undergraduate programmes.

International Baccalaureate

Applicants with a minimum of 34

points will be considered for direct admission to undergraduate programmes.

Edexcel BTEC Higher National Diploma

Holders of an Edexcel BTEC Higher National Diploma will be considered for direct admission to the second year of undergraduate programmes.

Other Qualifications:

• Holders of an Associate Degree will be considered for direct admission to undergraduate programmes.

Sheffield International College provides undergraduate foundation programmes specifically designed for students seeking entry into the University of Sheffield.

For Entry to Postgraduate Taught Programmes e.g. MA, MSc

Holders of a good bachelor degree from a recognised university in Bahrain will be considered for direct admission to postgraduate diploma or masters programmes.

For Entry to MBA

Holders of a good bachelor degree from a recognised university in Bahrain and at least 3 years´ post-graduation work experience will be considered for direct admission to the MBA. Applicants must be at least 25 years old by the time the programme starts.

Sheffield International College provides pre-Masters programmes specifically designed for students seeking entry into the University of Sheffield.

Holders of a good bachelor degree and a good masters degree from a recognised university in Bahrain will be considered for direct admission to postgraduate research programmes.
