The University of Sheffield
Prospective International Students - Middle East

Bijan Pasban Hazrat

Bijan graduated from The University of Sheffield in 2011 with a BA in Landscape Architecture.

Before studying at the University of Sheffield, I did my A levels in Oxford and then applied to the University of Sheffield through the UCAS system. I chose to study at the University of Sheffield, firstly for its ranking, secondly for its Student Union, and thirdly for the diversity of students in the city. I can also say the fourth reason was the Sheffield Ski Village!

I find the teaching at the University of Sheffield very interactive and you are given a lot of options, so you can just be yourself and find your style. The most valuable aspect of my course, in my opinion, is playing with the fine line that distinguishes Landscape from Architecture. One of the most enjoyable things about studying my subject in Sheffield is that any examples or sources of design that I need to look at are just next door.

One of the benefits of studying at the University of Sheffield is that it is a well known university, I think no matter what you study, but as long as you are here you will be more than fine. One of the best things about life in Sheffield is that it is so alive, no matter what time or where there is always something happening, so you can just pop in. My advice to prospective students coming to Sheffield is that students should always compare students and different degrees, but at the end they all come to Sheffield because they know nothing can top it!

Once I have completed my course I would like to do a year internship before applying for Master degree in the same field.
