University appoints new Anglican chaplain

The University of Sheffield has appointed the Revd Jeremy Clines to the position of Anglican University Chaplain.

The Bishop of Sheffield and the University confirmed the appointment of Jeremy Clines to the post, which will see him succeed Canon Will Lamb.

Jeremy Clines grew up in Sheffield, attending Tapton School and later graduating from the University of Surrey and University of Durham, where he studied Theology.
He has been Chaplain at York St John University since 1999, having served his curacy in Birmingham City Centre. His role in York saw him working with local faith communities, as well as staff and students.

His interests include how to relate religion to public and University life, and how the Church can reflect caring for the Earth in its worship.

Jeremy said: My family and I are delighted to be returning to my home city. I have enjoyed working at York St John University and will miss the place; as for the future though, I look forward to joining a chaplaincy team that is well equipped to serve the 25,000 students and 5,000 staff at Sheffield."
