British Library Scholarships

The British Library Scholarships arise from the special relationship the University has with the British Library. They are intended to support projects that draw significantly on both the holdings and expertise of the British Library. As a consequence, successful students will be jointly supervised by staff at the University of Sheffield and at the British Library (with the Sheffield academic acting as the lead supervisor).

Projects available for 2013-14 entry:

Freedom, oppression and resistance: Evolving stories in South African political ephemera and propaganda, 1948-2004 - supervised by Dr Daniel Hammett and Professor Charles Pattie (Department of Geography, University of Sheffield) and Ian Cooke (British Library) - closing date 31 May 2013.

Entrepreneurs, popular music and the web: the revaluation and monetisation of the vinyl archive - supervised by Dr Darragh O’Reilly (Management School, University of Sheffield), Dr David Patmore (Department of Music, University of Sheffield) and Andy Linehan (Popular Music Curator, British Library) - to be advertised shortly.
