Parking at student residences

Permits

Car parks at student residences are managed by the permit system. This ensures that car parks are only used by those who live on, work at and visit the site. Permits therefore need to be displayed by all users of the site.

Permit types

There are two types of permit at student residences: Category R (Staff) and Category R (Student).

The charge for these permits is £75 non-refundable per year for students from September 2011.
Permits will be issued until demand exceeds supply.

City Car Club

City Car Club cars will be available at Stanage Car Park. These allow you to use a car without worrying about the running costs and is ideal if you only want to use a car for occasional use.

Insurance

Students… Are you insured? If you have not informed your insurance company that you intend to bring your vehicle to University of Sheffield you may not be insured, this may also affect your insurance premiums.

Please ensure that you have valid insurance cover before bringing your vehicle to Sheffield and applying for a permit.
