Looked After Children & Care Leavers Project

We are dedicated and committed in providing opportunities, events and activities to young people in care throughout the region. These opportunities have a focus on: raising aspirations, raising awareness of FE/HE, the importance of education, employment and training, learning new skills and techniques, socialising and having fun.

The University of Sheffield's Outreach and Access to Medicine Scheme (SOAMS) makes a career in medicine a possibility for able students from all backgrounds.

Excellence Hub Taster Days

The purpose of the programme is to develop exciting and purposeful opportunities for gifted and talented young people. Events are available to all secondary school students in England identified as Gifted and Talented by teachers, regardless of their background, school status or home town.

Achievement Awards

Completed over a two year period, the Achievement Awards programme enables Year 10-11 students across the region to demonstrate the skills needed to be successful in various fields including employment, college, training organisations and university.

Science and Engineering Champions

The Science and Engineering Champions are a group of 80 University of Sheffield students who are dedicated to promoting the STEM subjects to young people. They work with the University's Outreach and Access section on a range of activities as well as with their own departments.

Year 11 Discover Law Day

This is a one day event for Year 11 students in the local area who would be interested to find out a bit more about what law at university could mean for them.

ADOPT

This two year programme is for Year 12 students who are interested in a career in dentistry, as a dentist, hygienist or therapist. Our aim is to encourage students from backgrounds which are under-represented in Higher Education.
