Miriam is currently on a placement from Arup and has joined the RISE team to research Embodied Carbon and Circular Economy Policy. She is a chartered engineer with a background in a variety of practical structural engineering projects and research within embodied carbon reduction as part of Arup's UK Structural Sustainability Hub leadership team, for example working on how we account for resource constrained materials (such as GGBS and recycled steel) in carbon calculations. She is looking forward to exploring and establishing more about the essential role policy will play in the decarbonisation of our industry
