Kam Fai Tai

I am an architectural design tutor for MA Architectural Design (MAAD) at the Sheffield School of Architecture. I am also the global director of SURE Architecture and co-founder of Oxford Forest Investment doing architectural design, real estate investment and development in the UK and abroad.

I studied my Dip.Arch and M.Arch at Sheffield School of Architecture and master’s degree of Major Programme Management (MMPM) at Saïd Business School of University of Oxford. I have a wide range of practice experience in different areas. I worked with Prof. Rem Koolhaas and Ole Scheeren to complete the CCTV Headquarters in Beijing. I also finished the design of London Heathrow Airport Terminal 3 Extension, and the Willis Building in City of London when I was working at Foster and Partners. My design of Endless vertical city at SURE Architecture won the first prize of International Skyscraper Competition, the Gold Award of London Design Awards 2014. I built up the team at SURE Architecture to balance globalization and localization in design development to win many competitions and awards. The British Business Award of Entrepreneur was awarded to me for the Year 2014.

I am interested in sustainable urban regeneration. In the last few years, I published several research papers and design schemes on this topic. I am also interested in 5-Dimensional Architectural design and research which I brought to join the exhibition on theme of ‘Time Space Existence’ at Venice Architecture Biennale 2014.
