Open days and campus tours
Our open days are the perfect place to meet our staff and students, go on tours of the campus and accommodation and find out what Sheffield is all about.
Undergraduate open days
- 27 June 2020
- 11 July 2020
Our top priority is always the health and safety of students, staff and those who make up our wider community across the globe. We are closely following the latest advice and guidance issued by the UK Government, Public Health England (PHE) and the Foreign and Commonwealth Office. We will continue to take all appropriate and necessary steps, as required by the official advice, to keep our community safe.
With this in mind, our June and July undergraduate open days will not take place on campus as planned. Instead we’d like to bring Sheffield to you with our online open day. This will be a great way to discover Sheffield from home. You will have the opportunity to see videos of the city, tour the wide range of accommodation, and explore the campus interactively. Staff and students will be on hand to answer any questions you may have. You will also be able to find out more about applying, student finance, studying abroad, and more. Book your place now and we will be in touch with more information soon.
Open days in September and October
- 12 September 2020
- 17 October 2020
Join our mailing list and we'll let you know when you can book your place for our September and October open days.
Our undergraduate open days give you the chance to discover more about our world-class university. Take tours of the campus, the Students’ Union and accommodation. Listen to talks about studying abroad. Find out advice about student loans and grants and discuss the things that matter to you.
Academic departments hold talks throughout the day. Staff and students will be there to answer your questions. Most important of all, you get to find out how it feels - the atmosphere, the people, the campus and the city.
If you've made an application to study with us, we may invite you for an interview or assessment, or we may make you an offer directly.
In either case, we’ll invite you to one of our applicant days which normally take place between November and April.
Come and take a tour of the University central campus. They take place on selected weekdays and leave at 1pm from the Students’ Union Welcome Desk.
If the date you’d like to visit doesn’t appear on the booking form, this means it’s either fully booked or that there is no tour taking place on that particular date.

Therefore we have taken the decision to cancel the Campus tours until further notice.
If you would prefer to explore the campus or the city in your own time, we have self-guided tours available.
Travelling to Sheffield
You may be eligible to receive an Access Travel Bursary to help with the cost of travelling to the open day.

We can arrange a visit with a tailored itinerary that can include a mix of sessions such as taster lectures, campus tours, applications and personal statement advice, an introduction to student finance and student life sessions with current students. Subject to staff availability, these visits can be arranged at any time in the year through the School and Colleges Liaison team.
