The idea of the public is both intuitive and yet highly contested. To unpack what we mean by this term The Crick Centre brought together scholars at the University of Sheffield to think about the idea of the public.
How Do We Know What The Public Think?
Within scholarly work on public opinion, there is no clarity about how actors within the political system understand and apply it in practice. A team from the Crick, with support from the SURE scheme, investigate how this differs across political actors.
