Modern Foreign Language teacher Billie Parnham feels the course equipped her with the assets of an outstanding teacher, one that always reflects on her practice and strives to engage students and create outstanding resources.

I am coming to the end of my second year as an Modern Foreign Language teacher after completing my PGDE at the University of Sheffield.

It is very cliché, but since the age of 11, I've always known that teaching languages was the career for me and I wanted to make sure I made the best possible choices to achieve my goal.

Studying and training for my PGDE at the University of Sheffield with Oliver and Cathy was one of the best choices I made in education. Oliver and Cathy were incredibly supportive, enthusiastic and brilliant. They offered placements that would help me improve my confidence and challenge myself.

The resources they provided were also outstanding. Whenever I felt like I wasn't good enough, they were there to guide me and help me achieve my goals.

Now that I've achieved my life goal of becoming a languages teacher - I reflect on my PGDE experience with pride and joy. My experience has enabled me to be the best teacher that I can be - one that always reflects on her practice and strives to engage students and create outstanding resources.

For me, the PGDE experience is best summed up as more than a teacher training course. Doing an MFL PGDE course at the University of Sheffield will help you to become a well-rounded, confident, experienced and confident teacher.
