Description

You are invited to an exciting workshop on arts & participatory action research organised by the Young People Together knowledge exchange project with PRN@TUOS.

Learning together: arts-based methods for asset-based youth participatory action research

Time: 10:00-13:00

This interactive workshop will explore learning from an arts-based participatory action research partnership between Stand and Be Counted (SBC) Theatre and researchers at the University of Sheffield.

Young People Together (YPT) is an action research intervention to build skills, leadership and social connections of young adults from around the world living in Sheffield.

The workshop will take you on a journey into Young People Together through sharing in SBC Theatre warm-up activities, viewing our documentary films, and discussion with YPT members, SBC Theatre and the University research team to explore:

  • the value of arts engagement for young adults from around the world

  • generating peer support and building youth collectives within the research process

  • ethics of care

  • working in partnership with creative artists

Workshop delegates will discuss and develop key learning points on good practice emerging from this project.
