From this academic year, Dr Patrícia Nabuco Martuscelli is joining MRG as a Co-Director and here's her message to the network members:

Hello, how are you? I am Patrícia Nabuco Martuscelli. I have been a Lecturer in International Relations at the Department of Politics and IR since September 2021.

My research is on asylum and migration policies in Latin America, especially on the role of diplomats in the Brazilian family reunification policy and refugee and migrant children. I have worked with different partners in Brazil, including directly with refugee and migrant communities in the city of São Paulo. I am currently teaching two modules on migration topics at the University of Sheffield: POL244 Migration and World Politics and POL3165: Global Politics of Forced Migration.

Before joining the University of Sheffield, I had the chance to work as a Research Fellow at the Institute for Risk and Disaster Reduction (IRDR - UCL, London). I also was a Visiting Fellow in different places, including the Zukunftskolleg at the University of Konstanz (Germany), the Jacobs Center for Productive Youth Development at the University of Zurich (Switzerland) and the Carolina Population Center at the University of North Carolina - Chapel Hill (USA).

I am so happy to join the MRG leadership team. I hope to contribute with different perspectives, considering my background as a Brazilian researcher. Please send me a message if you would like to connect.
