Creative City Collaborations

Supported by one of the most vibrant music scenes in the UK, music students and staff have been fortunate to collaborate with a number of local arts organisations over this last year. Our hands-on music curriculum allow our students to gain work experience in both specialist music training and academic study. This helps our students graduate with a broad and diverse skill set, opening up a host of career options, both in music and in other sectors.

17 Steinways arrive in Sheffield

2021 saw the start of the University of Sheffield's partnership with Steinway and Sons. This new, world-class accreditation, secured a new fleet of Steinway pianos for students across the university to use during their studies. A stunning launch weekend was held in November that showcased the outstanding talent of Dame Imogen Cooper, our instrumental tutors, and student performers. We look forward to 2022 which holds future exciting collaborative events for the Sheffield community.

Concerts are back! Internationally renowned performers feature

Our students were once again able to get involved in creative learning opportunities and high-quality collaborations. As a Sheffield home for musical discovery, learning and participation, the University of Sheffield Concert Series has provided a safe space for the music community to enjoy a diverse programme of live music.
