He has been a major figure on the Toronto music scene as musical director, keyboardist, saxophonist, accordionist and arranger in many jazz and R&B bands. He has played with and backed a diverse range of musicians that include The Drifters, The 5th Dimension and has opened for James Brown.

Now settled in Sheffield, Piero has found himself much in demand. He has backed many top front liners including Alan Barnes, Bruce Adams, Jim Mullen, Digby Fairweather and has supported a variety of distinguished jazz stars such as Cleo Laine and Johnny Dankworth, Claire Teal, Courtney Pine, Humphrey Lyttleton, Georgie Fame and Acker Bilke.
Piero can be seen playing locally with The Nicola Farnon Trio.
