Yussur Al-Chokhdar

Prior to joining Sheffield School of Architecture as an Undergraduate Design Tutor, I worked in practice for quite a few years, Bower Design Architects was an interesting steer in my career as their main focus was hand drawn design detail to the finished building. At Pozzoni Architects I managed projects from sketch to build in the commercial and residential sector. Which was followed by my MA journey at the Manchester School of Architecture in Architecture + Urbanism. This gradually built my curiosities and interest in creative ideas, and thinking which is what led me to my Phd research in Sheffield based on critical thinking in the design process in education, while simultaneoulsy learning from teaching.

I have an ongoing interest and passion to art, creativity and styling as an entrepreneur. I am the founder of Miskaya (a pop-up brand), producing luxury handmade charms paintings and crafts. Miskaya was sold world-wide, online and international department stores too. That gave me an insight in understanding business, market and consumer/customer values which my understanding of how significant architectural qualities are and a great insight to understating architecture from different points of view.
