Graduation 2015

The Graduation Ceremony for the Department of Chemistry took place on Wednesday 22nd July. As in previous years there were a large number of students present to celebrate the end of one phase of their lives and the beginning of another as Chemistry graduates from the University of Sheffield.

As part of this ceremony the department awards prizes in a number of different categories. This year, the Howarth medal for the best final year student was won by Robert Shaw who also won the Peter Maitlis prize for the best MSc thesis. The Brocklehurst Prize for the most improved final year student was shared threeways by Catherine Dirks, Jordan Gaskell and Thomas Roe. The Farapack Polymer prize for the best MChem with a year in Industry student was won by Sarah Byard.

See below for a photographic impression of this highly successful event.
