Steve Armes wins DSM Material Science Award
Royal DSM, the global Life Sciences and Materials Sciences company, announced recently that Steve Armes was awarded the DSM Materials Science Award 2016 in recognition of his exceptional contribution to the advancement of macromolecular architecture.
This prestigious prize, worth €50000, is awarded every two years and is presented in cooperation with IUPAC, the International Union of Pure and Applied Chemistry. DSM bestows the Materials Sciences award in recognition of outstanding scientific work by an established scientist that has significantly contributed to the advancement of the materials sciences field. Steve is the first UK scientist to win this prize.
Steve received his award from Dr. Marcel Wubbolts, Chief Technology Officer of DSM, at a special symposium held in the Chemistry Department on 21 July 2016.
