As a civil engineer you can literally change the world; developing bridges, tunnels, structures and sustainable buildings, providing water supplies, controlling pollution or responding to natural disasters. Your career will impact positively on people's lives every day.
Teaching and learning changes for 2020-21
Due to the coronavirus pandemic we have made some changes to teaching and learning for some courses in the 2020-21 academic year.
Why study with us?
The Integrated Design Project
Our award-winning Integrated Design Project (IDP) offers a distinctive opportunity to play a key role as part of a team working on a realistic design project. It’s about creating and testing ideas to solve real-world problems.
The Global Engineering Challenge
In this week-long project, all first year students in the Engineering Faculty tackle real-world problems from a global perspective. We'll challenge you to think about not only the technical issues in engineering developments but also the social, ethical and environmental implications of your decisions.
As a civil engineer, the work you do will have a direct and positive impact on people's lives, now and for future generations.
Engineering - You’re Hired! is a second year project which concentrates on obtaining the skills, and evidence of those skills, that will make you a highly employable engineer.
