Your Induction

Inductions are usually provided on three levels and are there to familiarise you with the University, its services and facilities.

  • A University-wide induction is offered by the Doctoral Academy once a year in September/October time. This induction will help you learn more about the support services available and how to make the most of your time here. The details will be on the EGS calendar and may be sent via email/advertised internally.
  • Faculty of Engineering induction - these are held twice a year in February and October. More information can be found below.
  • Your department or CDT will also arrange an induction for you which could include meeting key staff, a tour of the facilities and the provision of the PGR handbook. The details when this will take place and what the induction will include will usually be sent by email from the department's PGR co-ordinator.
