One of the UK’s most sought after guitar teachers, Jamie’s past and present students have been heard with a number of high-profile acts, including Roller Trio, Bryan Ferry Orchestra, Simply Red, Led Bib, Everything Everything, Cinematic Orchestra, Submotion Orchestra, and Engines of Creation. Between 2007 and 2009 he was Course Leader for Jazz at Leeds College of Music, before stepping down from the position to devote more time to his playing career.
Away from teaching, Jamie maintains a busy performing schedule, and has worked with leading musicians across a range of styles, such as Baptiste Herbin, David Lyttle, Laura Jurd, Jim Mullen, Alan Barnes, Reuben Fowler, Gary Potter, Steve Brown, Richard Hawley, and The Pigeon Detectives. Now a Hofner Artist, he has featured on recordings for the jazz labels Candid and GLP, and made a number of television and radio appearances.
As a freelance clinician, Jamie gives masterclasses and workshops around the UK, and he has reached a considerable international audience through his video jazz guitar lessons, sold online through the American website Mike’s Masterclasses.
