Dissemination and Outputs

Through wide dissemination, the knowledge gained from the QUICS Project can help towards more robustly designed solutions to meet the needs of the water framework directive.

QUICS dissemination aimed to target all levels of society and was split into four general categories: Outreach, Journal publications, Conference papers and presentations, and Reports and Guidance documents.

Outputs and materials such as presentations, posters and papers can be found through the links below (unless subject to copyright restrictions). As well as the events listed here, there were many Outreach events targeted at non-specialists including school children, the general public, university students and practitioners.

Journal publications
Each fellow was involved in writing several journal papers while working within the QUICS project. Publishing articles in recognised academic journals ensured the wide and long-lasting impact of QUICS.

Conferences and workshops
Each fellow presented at an international level technical conference at least once each year, promoting research out to a wider audience while making contacts within the subject area.

Reports and Guidance
QUICS produced a number of reports and documents, published in stages from 2016 until 2018, to give end users without access to journal papers - including regulators, water authorities and consultants - the guidance they require.

Software Tools and Code
Fellows produced tools and code to carry out various tasks related to uncertainty in integrated catchment studies - where these are likely to be useful to others, they have been shared.

Each QUICS fellow was required to participate in at least two outreach events each year, eg if the fellow visited their home country they gave a presentation at their local university. The final dissemination event was held during Amsterdam International Water Week on 2nd November 2017.
