Prior to joining the University of Sheffield, my work included teaching English as a foreign language whilst living in Paris and then Spain for a number of years, and managing a UK-based recruitment company. I joined the University of Sheffield in 1996 as PA to Professor Digby Tantam and, with the exception of a gap year (1999-2000), I have worked at the University ever since.
I held PA and administrator roles in the School of Education and in ScHARR before becoming the Health Economics and Decision Science (HEDS) Section Manager within the School of Medicine and Population Health - a post I held for 23 years.
I am currently the Operations Manager in the School of Chemical Materials and Biological Engineering (CMBE) where I deputise for the School Manager, manage the operations team, and am responsible for overseeing the implementation of processes concerning people management, estates, information management, business continuity and budget approvals.

I have achieved the Prince2 Certificate and Diploma, the Executive Secretary Diploma by the London Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and a BA Hons degree in Spanish and Latin American Studies on the Lifelong learning programme in the School of Education. The focus of my dissertation was racism and the marginalisation of Afro-Cubans living in Cuba.
