SMI Advisory Board – Working with experts, professionals and colleagues from academia.

This month saw our new Advisory Board convening – helping to define the next phase of growth for the SMI.

To ensure the SMI’s courses, partnerships and research stay relevant and ahead of the curve, we consult regularly with an Advisory Board made up of experts from across a wide range of sectors.  Our recent meeting included partners from the Government Statistical Service, Deltapoll and the Department for Work and Pensions.

The purpose of the Advisory Board is to help shape the future strategic direction of the institute in the light of local, regional, national and international contexts.  Through collaborative discussion, the Board explores potential areas of research and innovation, approaches to impact and relevance of our taught programme curricula to careers and professional practice.

This is an invaluable opportunity for us to hear from the very people who are using research methods to understand how our society is changing and to explore how, through our programmes and extra-curricular opportunities, we can support our graduates to be ready to join this endeavour
