My decision to study for a doctorate degree in the sociology of medicine and healthcare at the University of Sheffield is inspired by my previous academic and volunteering experiences in the related field. I joined the Department of Sociological Studies in 2020.

My proposed title is 'The Role of Medical Social Workers in the Construction of Doctor-Patient Relationship in Contemporary China'.
I have used media framing analysis to examine medical disputes covered by the state-sanctioned media coverage and employed qualitative methods to study the audience’s reception of such media representations. During my observation and research, I began noticing the profession of medical social work.
