Best oral and poster presentation awards at BiTEG 2019

The 2019 Annual Meeting of the White Rose Biomaterials and Tissue Engineering Group (BiTEG) was held on 16 December at the University of York.

Postgraduate Researchers, Betül Aldemir Dikici and Serkan Dikici, from Sheffield Biomaterials and Bioengineering group at the Kroto Research Institute shared their research BiTEG 2019 with poster and oral presentations.

Betül Aldemir Dikici is in the final year of her PhD from 3dBioMat group and has been researching emulsion templated scaffolds for bone tissue engineering applications in Dr Frederik Claeyssens’ group since 2016.

She presented her work with two poster presentations and won the best poster presentation award at this prestigious conference.

Serkan Dikici, a final year PhD student from 3dBioMat group, delivered an oral presentation on the evaluation of the pro-angiogenic potential of 2-deoxy-D-ribose (2dDR) using established in vitro and in vivo angiogenesis assays and won the best oral presentation award for his presentation at the conference.
