Chris began his research career after completing an undergraduate degree in Textile Management and Technology. He went on to complete a MSc in Advanced Materials. Chris is currently Dry Fibre Development Manager within the AMRC Composite Centre, with over 30 years experience in advanced materials manufacturing.

Chris has a strong background in textile processing and composites research, with expertise in 3D weaving design and manufacturing. In terms of his industrial background in textiles, Chris has worked as an Engineer, Technical Manager and Group Technical Manager at leading UK manufacturing companies including James Dewhurst, Autoliv and Sigmatex.

Research interests

Chris’s research interests include: 3D Weaving Design and Manufacturing; Advanced Composite Materials; Carbon Fibre Composites.

Chris has been involved in a number of research projects, spanning various TRL’s, during his time at the AMRC Composite Centre. He is currently engaged in the following project:

NATEP, Continuous Interface Coating for SiC Composites (CICSiC), (PI), January 2020 - April 2022, £37,685
