After completing A-Levels in Biology, Chemistry and Mathematics, Syed pursued a bachelors degree in Chemical Engineering at the University of Sheffield. This was then followed by a PhD in the same department sponsored by BBSRC and Nestlé, investigating the shelf life of confectionary products. Syed joined the AMRC in 2017 and currently is the lead expert for powder research within the field of additive manufacturing. During his time at the AMRC, he also completed a part time MSc course in Management for Engineers.
