Work by students in each year of their studies was exhibited as part of “Imagine Glasgow” hosted in Glasgow at the New Glasgow Society: the exhibition was timed to coincide with COP26 in the city.

The Sheffield School of Architecture at the University of Sheffield is one of the leading schools of architecture in the UK. We’re committed to having a positive and lasting impact on the global built environment.

Our aim is to incorporate a zero carbon agenda into every design project in the Sheffield School of Architecture. To recognise the work of our students this exhibition features one project from every year that demonstrates a response to the climate emergency. 

• Year One: a group project that demonstrates the “The Civic Recycling Skip”. From Rosie Bannerman, Shannon Goss, Claudiu Costache, Olivia Satow, Nalinee Hapiyavatanasaku and Precious Oyibo.
• Year Two: an individual project by Natalia Hryszko, called “Growing together: flexible housing”
• Year Three: this project by Tom Matthews, “Istanbul Counter Mapping Centre”, is presented in the form of a traditional rug. 
• From Live Projects, a postgraduate collaboration of MA, MSc and MArch students working on a project for external stakeholders. This project developed a vision for a Climate Action Centre for Can Do South Yorkshire: an ambitious project that aims to connect people, nature, and climate. • MArch: Claire Wilkinson and Rose Helps, both studying a MArch Architecture, present a joint project “Neepsend Co-operative” which re-purposes a derelict brewery, using the existing infrastructure to minimise embodied carbon and material use. 
• MArch: an individual project by Chloe Nicol, MArch, that looks at developing part of the River Don in South Yorkshire, entitled “Drowned Don”. 

Simon Chadwick and John Sampson who curated this exhibition are both part of the Sheffield School of Architecture. Simon Chadwick is the Director of the Undergraduate Programme, and says “We are delighted to be part of this excellent event and to exhibit some of the work of our wonderful students during the COP26 summit. We are very grateful to the New Glasgow Society for the invitation to contribute and I’m hopeful that visitors to the exhibition find the work inspirational.”
