Vanessa Torri

I am a practicing Architect with several years of experience working on landmark historic buildings both in the UK and internationally, such as the refurbishment of Grade I listed Manchester Town Hall, where I was also responsible for several educational outreach programmes that added social value to the project, alongside work as a visiting tutor at Manchester School of Architecture.

As a student, my work was nominated for various awards, including RIBA Silver Medal in 2017 and AJ Standout Student.

I believe adaptive reuse of existing buildings is one of the most impactful decisions we, as designers, can make. If we work with the building stock we already have and thoughtfully adapt it, using high-quality materials and innovative designs the architectural profession can create a durable legacy.
