Workshop: Inequalities research

On 11 September 2019, CWiPP hosted a well-attended informal workshop to map the range of interests and expertise in research that engages with questions of inequality, and what we do well across the disciplines at the University of Sheffield.

The programme included a panel discussion by Rachel van Duyvenbode (English), Aarti Iyer (Psychology), Aki Tsuchiya (Economics and School of Health and Related Research) and Afua Twum-Danso Imoh (Sociology) on undertaking inequalities research.

Chris Millard (History) presented the latest developments on the Inequalities Researcher Database. As a result of the workshop, the Sheffield Inequalities Researchers’ Network (SIRN) was set up. This is coordinated by Dan Brockington (SIID), Aarti Iyer (Psychology), Chris Millard and Aki Tsuchiya. To join SIRN, please contact Aki: a.tsuchiya@sheffield.ac.uk.
