English Language Requirements
Erasmus+ students who are EU/EEA nationals are not required to provide evidence of their English Language proficiency to the University of Sheffield.
However, we expect them to ensure that their level of English is equivalent to the departmental English Language requirements that are set for all other international exchange students.
If you already have a recognised English Language qualification, it would be useful to upload it to your online application and/or bring it with you to the registration event on arrival.
If you are of a non-EU/EEA nationality and will be applying for a Tier 4 visa to enter the UK, you will be required to provide evidence of your English Language proficiency to the University of Sheffield for immigration purposes at least 3 months before your arrival.
The University of Sheffield Admissions Office will contact you automatically about this once you have accepted your offer provided that you have entered a non-EU/EEA nationality on your Erasmus+ application. However, if you know you will need to apply for a Tier 4 visa, it is a good idea to begin organising your English language test earlier.
