Exploring our Past Present and Future – in Felt: Benwell in Felt Exhibition and Book Launch

Exhibition displayed between 2-15 April at the City Library, Newcastle upon Tyne.

Benwell in Felt was an Imagine North East project by St James’ Centre for Heritage and Culture. The felting artwork is now on permanent display at the Carnegie Building, Atkinson Road, Benwell.

A film show and discussion with local film-maker Hugh Kelly. This event was part of the Connected Communities Festival.

Imagine North East exhibition launch

11am, Saturday 27 June. Opening speeches followed by lunch.

On the 27 June the exhibition is open 10.30am - 4.30pm. It will be displayed at this venue until Friday 4 September 2015.

Benwell storytelling and model-making project ‘Imagining Benwell: If Benwell was an animal, what would it be?’ 

During June and July 2015, as part of the Connected Communities Festival Events for Imagine North East, four groups of children and parents were involved in story telling and model making sessions.

The children and parents were from Riverside Community Health Project, Pendower Good Neighbour Project, Bridgewater Primary School and Action for Children Supporting Families.

They helped choose an animal to depict Benwell and used the model making sessions to create the animal.

Imagine2 Launch
