Joint research centre with Nanjing University is opened

An official opening ceremony was held on 7 July 2014 for the joint research centre for wide bandgap semiconductor optoelectronics. The VC and PVCs and a senior delegation from Nanjing University attended the ceremony.

The Joint Research Centre for Wide Bandgap Semiconductor Optoelectronics is a collaborative effort between the University of Sheffield and Nanjing University in China.

Both universities contribute significant expertise and research capabilities in the field of nitride semiconductor materials and devices. The centre serves to strengthen collaborative links between the two institutions while increasing research output and enabling staff and student exchanges.
