As part of Understanding Society: A Festival of Social Science 2021, Dr Stephen Allen, Lecturer in Organization Studies at Sheffield University Management School, worked with the team at Dead Earnest Theatre Company to create a short audio play called 'No Leaders Here!'.
Understanding Society: A Festival of Social Science is a free, online festival that showcases the work of the University of Sheffield's researchers and tackles some of the biggest issues affecting society today. There is a whole host of talks, debates, films and podcasts available online.

'No Leaders Here!' is based on Dr Allen's research into what it means to be ecologically sustainable and socially equitable for people and organisations. The play centres around two fictional characters discussing issues surrounding grassroots, activist and community organising and encourages listeners to consider their own personal engagement with organisations.
