Job Opportunity: University Teacher in Feminist Philosophy
The Department of Philosophy, University of Sheffield, are recruiting a University Teacher in Feminist Philosophy on a fixed term basis from 1 September 2019 until 30 June 2020.
This is an ideal opportunity for a scholar with specialism in Feminist Philosophy to undertake a range of teaching and administrative duties in the department.
The opportunity arises as maternity leave cover. Teaching will be required at undergraduate and MA levels, particularly in the areas of Feminism, Philosophy of Sex and introductory Philosophy of Mind.
You will have or be working towards a PhD in Philosophy or a related subject area (or have equivalent experience), proven teaching ability and administrative skill. You will be expected to teach modules on Feminism to undergraduate and MA students and to undertake some MA supervision. You will also deliver first-year modules on “Philosophy of Sex” and “Mind, Brain and Personal Identity”. And you will carry out suitable administrative duties to a high level.
Post-holders will join a department currently consisting of 17 permanent members of staff, across an unusually broad range of areas. In the 2014 Research Excellence Framework our outputs were ranked 2nd in the UK. We have a large and thriving postgraduate community and a lively reading group and seminar culture.
