National Student Survey 2019: 3rd in the Russell Group for student satisfaction

The National Student Survey gives all students the opportunity to give feedback on their experience during their university studies near the end of their final year. We are delighted with our excellent results in the most recent, 2019 survey.

96% for student satisfaction. (BA Philosophy, National Student Survey 2019). Department of Philosophy. NSS - National Student Survey.

We scored 96% for overall satisfaction for BA Philosophy, and we were 3rd in the Russell Group for Philosophy overall.

We greatly value feedback from our students and are pleased with the confirmation that students find us approachable and helpful as well as excellent teachers.

On these issues, our BA Philosophy students responded as follows:

  • 100% agreed that they have been able to contact staff when they needed to
  • 100% commended our staff for being good at explaining things and
  • 100% said that staff made the subject interesting.

The University of Sheffield is second for overall student satisfaction in the Russell Group, the association of leading UK research-intensive universities.
