This group brings together researchers interested in questions of governance, political participation, public opinion and public policy. Our work embraces questions of governance and participation at a variety of scales, from the realm of individual citizens to cross-national comparisons.

EURYKA: Reinventing democracy in Europe: youth doing politics in times of increasing inequalities

Funding: European Commission Horizon 2020, €621,870 Professor Grasso (€2,595,720 for the whole consortium)

EURYKA is a cross-national research project which provides systematic and practice-related knowledge about how inequalities mediate youth political participation. It suggests novel democratic models to help re-imagine a more inclusive European politics. The project brings together researchers and civil society practitioners from nine European countries: France, Germany, Greece, Italy, Poland, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, and the United Kingdom.

The Centre for Wellbeing in Public Policy 

The Centre for Wellbeing in Public Policy (CWiPP) considers how people's health and wellbeing can be defined, measured and improved in ways that help policy makers determine the best use of scarce resources. The project also aims to investigate the determinants of well-being insofar as these are relevant to policy formulation.

The Nexus Network

Funding: Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC), £103k

The Nexus Network brings together researchers, policy makers, business leaders and civil society to develop collaborative projects to improve decision making on food, energy, water and the environment. The three-year initiative aims to foster debate, innovative research and practical collaborations across these four linked 'nexus' domains.
