Mapping Arts, Culture & the Creative Industries in Barnsley - Creatives Questionnaire

Off

Thank you for agreeing to participate in this project to help the University of Sheffield (UoS) and Barnsley Metropolitan Borough Council (BMBC) map the creative and cultural industries sector based within Barnsley. This webpage provides details of how to take part in the project.

This work will help partners within BMBC to develop a programme of cultural engagement, highlight any existing cultural clusters within the Borough, and help to develop the most suitable infrastructure/venues to develop the cultural sector as part of the Borough’s regeneration plans.

The University of Sheffield is creating a database on behalf of BMBC as part of this project - below is a 'creatives questionnaire' for you to complete (if you live or carryout work in Barnsley). One of the advantages of being included in this database is that BMBC will inform you of any relevant opportunities to participate in cultural events, any relevant training, and opportunities to apply for funding.

Please note that we require you to complete consent documents (detailed in the section below) before completing the questionnaire; without these documents we we will not be able to include your details in the database.

Consenting to take part

To enable us to collect the relevant data from you the University of Sheffield was required to obtain ethics clearance and BMBC was required to complete a Data Impact Assessment, both of which included various consent forms to be read and signed by creative participants.

Before completing the questionnaire, could you please download and read the following three documents at the links below:

  1. Participants Info Sheet (PDF)
  2. UREC Consent Form (Word)
  3. Barnsley Data Usage Form (Word)

The UREC Consent Form and Barnsley Data Usage Form need to completed, signed (both forms can be completed electronically and an electronic signature is fine) and emailed to jean.simpson@sheffield.ac.uk.
