Profile

After my first degree in Translation and Interpreting at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, I undertook an MA in Localisation and Translation Technologies and I worked as a freelance translator specialising in localisation and technical translation for five years.

BA Hons in Translation and Interpreting, MA in Translation and Localisation, PG Cert in Teaching and Learning in Higher Education, CELTA.

In 2009, after my first teaching qualification, I started teaching Catalan language courses to adults in a Catalan public institution. In 2010 I was appointed at University College Cork as a Foreign Language Tutor, where I taught Catalan Language and Catalan Cultural Studies to undergraduate students for four years and I co-organised several international conferences and cultural events in order to promote Catalan Studies. In Cork, I also contributed to the translation technologies module in the MA in Translation Studies, as well as undertaking the PG Cert in Teaching and Learning in Higher Education.

I came to the University of Sheffield in 2014, where I am convening and delivering modules on Localisation and Translation Technologies, as well as contributing to other subject-related teachings. I am also the Programme Leader for the MA in Multilingual Information Management.
