Independent film maker Spyros Gerousis will present his new film: ‘Contained: A New Silk Road Story’ in discussion with Hara kouki, University of Crete and Yannis Kallianos, The University of Sheffield.
"Contained: A New Silk Road Story” is a brief ethno-artistic glimpse into the everyday life of one of the largest Romani communities in Greece, located in a shanty town called Nea Zoi (New Life). Nea Zoi lies within a vast network of transportation and logistics infrastructures just outside the Greek capital, Athens. The film is a product of the Global Corridor research program at the Urban Institute (University of Sheffield), which monitors the large-scale transportation and logistics investments shaping the New Silk Road and the communities affected by them."
