Honorary Research Fellow Michael Bamforth discovers an unusual Roman artefact

Honorary Research Fellow from the University of Sheffield, Michael Bamforth, demonstrates a post-excavation analysis which uncovers something rather remarkable.

Roman wooden arm artefact

Michael is a wood expert and came across a wooden arm with an open right hand, which has derived from the Roman era.

The discovery was conducted at Warth Park in Raunds, Northamptonshire. Although the analysis of the arm is ongoing, we hope to have further details about this unusual artefact - you can read more at the Current Archaeology website.
